Direct entry stream

Eligibility criteria for subclass 186 visa

• Age must be under 45 years old 
  
• At least 3 years of experience in your specific field.
  
• Demonstrate English proficiency as per the country standard 
  
• Have a health and a police clearance certificate 
  
• An Australian employee needs to nominate the applicant for the visa.

Requirements for the Direct Entry stream

An applicant must have;

• A valid skill assessment for the selected occupation must be obtained.
  
• At least 3 years of full-time work experience in the nominated occupation is required. Full-time experience is defined as working a minimum of 38 hours per week.

Requirements for Temporary residency transition stream

An applicant must have;

• Full-time employment on a 457 or 482 visa for a minimum of 3 out of the 4 years preceding the application for this stream is necessary.
  
• Currently, the applicant must hold a 457 or 482 visa, or a Bridging visa A, B, or C.
  
• The application must be submitted within 6 months following the approval of the nomination.

Requirements for the Labour agreement stream 

An applicant must have;

• The primary requirement for this stream is that the applicant must currently be employed or will be employed by an Australian employer who agrees to nominate them and is part of a labour agreement.
  
• The applicant must acquire sufficient skills to work for the nominating employer; however, a skill assessment application is not required unless requested by the Department of Home Affairs.
