What does the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program mean for immigrants?

The latest AAIP selection rounds demonstrate Alberta’s continued commitment to the province's labor market needs in its immigration strategy. Alberta is focusing on high-priority sectors and sustainable, long-term economic growth by issuing over 1,000 invitations through several streams.

For immigration recipients, it means  they should be able to stay competitive by gaining more experience in priority occupations and fulfilling provincial pre-conditions to enhance their chances of receiving a provincial nomination. Express Entry-based nominations through an AAIP stream also award an extra 600 CRS points, significantly improving their prospects of being issued with an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence.

As targeted draws continue to be issued in Alberta, skilled workers with qualifications that align with the province’s labour market needs are likely to be in a strong position to take advantage of future immigration opportunities.
