Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 4 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to skilled military recruits with proven military experience in a foreign military outside Canada who can make a valuable contribution to Canada’s armed forces through their expertise. The minimum CRS cutoff for the 42nd Express Entry draw is 368, and the military experience should be classified under National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes.

Eligibility Criteria to Apply for the latest Express Entry draw
For someone willing to apply to the Skilled Military Recruits category through the most recent Express Entry draw, the following conditions have to be met:
An Express Entry profile should be among the three programs that fall under the category of economic immigration.
Have a minimum of 6 months of continuous and full-time (or part-time equivalent) experience in the last 3 years in one of the qualified military occupations according to IRCC.
The candidate should have their work experience fall under the approved National Occupation Classification Codes in the Skilled Military Recruits category.
Comply with all the Express Entry program requirements in terms of language skills, education, admissibility, etc.
Get the appropriate Comprehensive Ranking System score to be invited in the draw.
Comply with the tie-breaker rule in case there is more than one candidate with the same CRS score.
What does the latest Express Entry draw mean for immigrants?
The recent Express Entry draw shows how Canada is making efforts to expand its category-based selection program by creating a new entry route specifically for Skilled Military Recruits. Even though the number of candidates selected from the draw was limited to four people, it still means that IRCC is planning to use this draw to overcome labour shortages in certain defense and military occupations and invite applicants for permanent residence to Canada.
This draw does not affect the selection criteria or process for immigrants applying through the following programs: Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program, and Federal Skilled Trades Program.
