Policy changes made by Tasmania for the 2026-27 Skilled Migration Program
Here’s what has changed in the latest Tasmania Skilled Migration Program draw for 2026-27.
Tasmania hasn’t stopped overseas migration overall, but for the 2026-27 Skilled Migration Program, it has overhauled the system by stopping Subclass 491 invitations for international immigrants, specifically the Subclass 491 Overseas Skilled Occupation Profiles pathway.
Subclass 190 is still open for skilled workers, especially overseas applicants under the Subclass 190 Overseas Applicant Health or Education Sector Job Offer pathway.
The latest Migration Tasmania Skilled Migration Program now requires a formal job offer from a valid health provider/school operating on the island.
Invitations will continue throughout the year on an estimated weekly basis, inviting skilled professionals from around the country across different sectors.
