Eligibility Criteria to apply for the latest PSTQ draw
Apart from all the eligibility requirements above under the priority occupations, there are several general provisions applicable to all streams equally, which are:
Applicants must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) on the Arrima Portal before applying for PR and receiving an invitation from Quebec’s immigration authorities.
The immigrant must be 18 years of age or above.
The applicant must intend to work and permanently settle in Canada.
Submit French Proficiency Test Scores before applying for jobs in Quebec, if required.
What does the latest draw mean for skilled candidates?
The latest PSTQ draw indicates that Quebec continues to favor applicants whose skills align with the provincial labor market's needs. Rather than relying solely on scores, the province is selecting candidates based on specific occupations and the prerequisites of the designated PSTQ streams to fill local workforce shortages.
Individuals seeking permanent residency through Quebec's program should recognize that this draw highlights the importance of keeping an updated Arrima profile, gaining experience in in-demand occupations, and meeting the province's language and other selection criteria. With each upcoming targeted draw in Quebec, candidates with the skills the province requires will be more likely to receive an invitation.
