What are the different programs under AIPP?

The Atlantic High-Skilled Program (AIPP) offers three distinct immigration pathways tailored to various candidate profiles:

1. Atlantic High-Skilled Program Overview: The AIPP is designed for skilled workers with backgrounds in professional, managerial, or skilled/technical roles. 3. Work Experience Eligibility: Candidates must possess at least one year of employment experience within the past three years, equivalent to a minimum of 1,560 hours. The experience can be gained through full-time, part-time, or non-continuous work, and it should meet the following criteria:

  • Occurred within a single occupation, even if with multiple employers
  • Paid employment (volunteer work and unpaid internships are excluded)
  • Aligned with skill levels B, A, or 0 under the NOC
  • Acquired either within Canada or abroad

4. Education Requirements: To be eligible, candidates should have:

  • A Canadian post-secondary or secondary degree, diploma, or certificate; OR
  • An international certificate, diploma, degree, apprenticeship, or trade education credential For international credentials, an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) is essential to verify their equivalence to a Canadian post-secondary or secondary qualification. The ECA must demonstrate parity and be obtained within five years of the application date.

5. Language Proficiency: Language proficiency is crucial, and applicants must meet these criteria:

  • Attain a minimum CLB Level 4 for English or an equivalent Niveaux de Compétence Linguistique Canadiens (NCLC) score for French
  • Successfully complete language tests that evaluate reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills
  • Ensure the test results are obtained within two years of the application date

6. Proof of Financial Capacity: Applicants must showcase their ability to financially support themselves and any accompanying family members upon immigrating to Canada. The required funds are based on family size, including non-immigrating dependents they support. 1. Job Offer:

  • Secure a job offer from an Atlantic province employer endorsed by AIP.
  • The job should be full-time, non-seasonal, and require a minimum of 30 hours per week.
  • The role should fall under skill level B, A, or 0.
  • It must be a permanent position obtained through a recognized Federal Government process.
  • While the new job doesn’t have to match your previous occupation, you must meet its employment requirements specified in the NOC.

2. Work Experience:

  • Accumulate at least 1 year (1,560 hours) of work within the past 3 years.
  • Work can be full-time, part-time, or non-continuous, as long as it adds up to the required hours.
  • Your work must be within a single occupation, even if with multiple employers.
  • Unpaid internships or volunteering won’t count.
  • The work can be either in Canada or abroad and must be at skill level C under NOC.

3. Education:

  • Hold a Canadian Degree, Diploma, Certificate (Post-secondary or Secondary), OR

4. Language Proficiency:

AIPP: Atlantic International Graduate Program

International Graduate Program of the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) caters to individuals possessing diplomas, degrees, or similar qualifications from publicly funded institutions within Atlantic provinces.

Employment Offer Applicants must secure a job offer that adheres to the following criteria:

  • Endorsed by an AIP-designated employer from an Atlantic province.
  • Full-time and non-seasonal, requiring a minimum of 30 weekly work hours.
  • Falls within Skill Levels B, A, or 0.
  • Permanent in nature.
  • Processed through an official Federal Government channel.

This job offer need not align with their previous work experience, though candidates must meet the employment criteria specified in the National Occupational Classification (NOC).

Work Experience While not obligatory, having prior work experience is not a prerequisite for applicants.

Education Candidates should have:

  • Completed a recognized program, such as a 2-year Certificate, Diploma, Degree, Apprenticeship, or Trade education from a reputable publicly funded institution in Atlantic Canada.
  • Studied full-time in Canada for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Graduated within 24 months prior to the application date.
  • Resided in an Atlantic Canada province for at least 16 out of the past 24 months prior to graduation.
  • Held a Study, Work, or Training Permit/Visa for Canada.
  • Undertaken language courses (French or English) for over 50% of the program duration.
  • Engaged in distance learning for over 50% of the program duration.

Candidates are disqualified if their training/study included:

  • Obligation to return to their home country upon graduation.
  • Fellowship or scholarship that required return to home country.

Language Proficiency Candidates must:

  • Achieve at least CLB Level 4 in English language proficiency or NCLC – Niveaux de Comptence Linguistique Canadiens for French.
  • Successfully complete language tests demonstrating competence in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
  • Acquire test results within 2 years of applying.

Proof of Finances Applicants need to demonstrate sufficient financial capability to support themselves and any accompanying family members upon immigrating to Canada. This requirement is waived for candidates already residing and working in Canada on a valid Work Visa.

What is a Settlement Plan?

Upon receiving a job offer, candidates who wish to immigrate to Canada via one of the three routes offered by the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Programme must submit a Plan of Settlement. By putting an emphasis on specialised resources for the needs of the candidates and their families, the plan has been created to assist them in establishing in Canada. The Plan of Settlement with a Service Provider for Settlement, which is offered both domestically and abroad, is supported by candidates. The candidate may receive advice from the employer over the company to join.

What does a provincial endorsement mean?

The province must approve each employment offer made through the AIPP. Once the candidate has the Settlement Plan, the employer is in charge of the endorsement application.

Candidates must wait until they have the Endorsement Certificate before applying for a Canada PR visa. These must be sent with the application.
