The PEI PNP comprises three main immigration pathways, each with its own subcategories. Within the third Express Entry pathway, PEI PNP provides a fast-track option for candidates to obtain a Canada PR Visa, often in just six months.

Prospective applicants interested in Canadian immigration through PEI PNP have two ways to obtain the Nomination Certificate. The first method involves applying directly to PEI PNP outside the Express Entry Program through the Office of Immigration of Prince Edward Island. The second method for securing a nomination from PEI PNP is to first create a profile in the Federal Express Entry pool. Candidates can then express their interest in immigrating to PEI within the Express Entry system. This method is advisable as it allows the inclusion of your Profile ID in Express Entry during the submission of an Expression of Interest (EOI) to PEI PNP.

This significantly boosts their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score by an extra 600 points, virtually guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for a Canada PR Visa in the next Express Entry draw.

Business Impact Pathway for the PEI PNP

The PEI PNP’s Business Impact Pathway is for applicants who want to invest in and actively manage a business in Prince Edward Island. This PEI PNP immigration route is further broken into the following three groups:

Pathway for Business Impact: 100% Ownership Category

The 100% Ownership Category in Prince Edward Island is designed for foreign nationals who intend to have full control over businesses established in the province. This category allows for the creation of new businesses or the complete acquisition of existing businesses in PEI by individuals.

To qualify for the 100% Ownership Category, applicants must meet specific requirements, some of which are common across all immigration sub-categories in the PEI Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Here are the key requirements for this category:

Business Plan: Applicants must provide a detailed business plan for the PEI-based business they intend to acquire.
Active Management: They are required to actively manage the business by residing in PEI.
Escrow Agreement: Applicants must enter into an escrow agreement, including a deposit of $200,000.
Investment: A minimum investment of $150,000 into the PEI business is mandatory.

It should be a for-profit corporation in good standing concerning all obligations and debts.
The business must maintain a permanent establishment and corporate headquarters in PEI.
Full payment of income taxes on taxable income is expected.
The business must possess assets with a minimum book value of $150,000.
It should have the potential to generate significant financial benefits for Prince Edward Island.

Pathway for Business Impact: Work Permit Category

The Work Permit category is an excellent choice for foreign nationals looking to secure a Work Permit to immigrate to Prince Edward Island (PEI) and engage in business activities they plan to invest in. Labour Impact Pathway for the PEI PNP

The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) offers the Labor Impact Pathway for individuals who wish to live and work in the province without the goal of owning a business. This pathway is designed for candidates who possess specific experience, education, and skills that align with the current labor market demands in Prince Edward Island.

Within the PEI PNP Labor Impact Pathway, there are two distinct sub-categories. While there is some overlap in the requirements for these two immigration categories, the primary requirements are unique to each category.

Pathway for Labour Impact: Skilled Worker Category

Candidates who will be engaged by or have already been hired by an employer in PEI fall under the Skilled Worker Category under the PEI PNP Labour Impact Pathway. Candidates must have post-secondary education in addition to experience and competence in a professional profession.

Requirements:-

Be between the ages of 59 and 21.
A long-term (at least two years), full-time job offer at a NOC.
Level B, A, or 0 skilled position from a PEI firm.
When working in Prince Edward Island, you must have a current work visa.
Must be in good standing in the country they are currently residing in.
Own a 2-year post-secondary degree
Must have completed relevant coursework or at least 2 years of full-time job in the previous 2 years.
Must have enough money to settle in Prince Edward Island
French or English language proficiency is required.

Pathway for Labour Impact: Critical Worker Category

Unskilled or skilled workers fall under the Critical Worker Category under the PEI PNP Labour Impact Pathway. The applicants must either be employed by a PEI company currently or have a PEI employer who will sponsor them for a Canada PR visa. Some of the professions in this area are housekeeping, general labour, truck driving, and food service.

Requirements:-

Be between the ages of 21 and 59.
Must have a working visa in force.
Must have at least 6 months of full-time job experience for the PEI employer
Must be in good standing in the country they are currently residing in.
Possess a minimum of a high school diploma
Must have sufficient cash to stay in PEI
A long-term, full-time job offer at NOC Level D or C in an unskilled or skilled position from a PEI business is required.
French or English language proficiency is required.

A minimum overall IELTS score of 4.0 bands, with the following threshold individual scores: Speaking 4, Writing 4, Reading 3.5, and Listening 4.5, is required to demonstrate language proficiency.

Express Entry Pathway for the PEI PNP

Prince Edward Island (PEI) Province utilizes the Canada Express Entry system as part of its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) to attract potential immigrants. PEI offers Notification of Interest (NOI) to individuals in the Express Entry pool whose profiles align with the specific criteria set by the province.

To be eligible for acceptance into the PEI PNP through the Express Entry pathway, applicants need to meet various criteria. These criteria are designed to ensure that candidates possess skills that align with the current labor market needs in PEI, which may change over time. Importantly, having a job offer from an employer in PEI is not a requirement for this program.

Here are the key requirements:

Express Entry Profile: Applicants must have a registered profile in the Canada Express Entry pool.
Economic Programs: To submit their Express Entry profile, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for at least one of the three economic programs:
Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP): This program is for individuals with the skills, education, work experience, and language abilities needed to contribute to Canada's economy.
Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP): Designed for skilled tradespeople with work experience in a qualifying trade, this program aims to address labor shortages in specific industries.
Canadian Experience Class (CEC): For candidates with prior Canadian work experience and the intention to continue working in Canada.

It’s important to note that these criteria may evolve to align with the changing labor market demands in PEI. Applicants should stay updated with the latest requirements to maximize their chances of receiving an NOI from PEI and securing nomination through the PNP.

Candidates for the Federal Skilled Worker Programme must:

Hold a High School Diploma as a Minimum Qualification
Accumulate a Minimum of 1-Year Full-Time Skilled Work Experience
Work Experience in NOC Skill Level Positions B, A, or 0 Required
Demonstrate Proficiency in English or French Language at CLB Level 7

Candidates for the Canadian Experience Class Programme must:

No Minimum Education Requirement: There is no specific minimum education requirement.
1-Year Full-Time Skilled Work Experience in Canada: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of full-time skilled work experience in Canada. This experience does not need to be continuous but must have been acquired within the last three years from the application date.
Relevant Work Experience in NOC Skill Levels: Work experience should fall within the National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Level positions of B, A, or 0.
Language Proficiency Requirements: Proof of proficiency in either English or French language is necessary. For NOC Skill Level A or 0 work experience, applicants must demonstrate language proficiency at Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 7. For NOC Skill Level B work experience, CLB Level 5 is required.

Candidates for the Federal Skilled Trades Programme must:

No Education Minimum Requirement: There's no need for a specific level of education.
2+ Years Full-Time Skilled Work Experience: Candidates should have at least two years of full-time skilled work experience in a trade occupation.
Skilled Trade Job Offer or Qualification Certificate: Applicants must either possess a job offer in a skilled trade in Canada or hold a qualification certificate for their skilled trade issued by a Canadian authority.
Language Proficiency at CLB Level 5 (Listening and Speaking) and CLB Level 4 (Writing and Reading): Demonstrated proficiency in either English or French language equivalent to CLB Level 5 for Listening and Speaking skills, and CLB Level 4 for Writing and Reading skills is required.
